Essex and Suffolk Water: Priority Service Register
Our free Priority Services can help if you need extra support due to age, disability, mobility issues, illness, medical condition, mental health, life changes, communication needs, or have children under five.
How Priority Services can help:
- Keep your home safe with a password - Choose a password for us to use when we call or visit so you can be sure it's us.
- If your water supply is interrupted for more than 6 hours - we’ll do our best to make water available to you. If you have limited mobility or rely on water for medical reasons, we may deliver bottled water directly to your home.
- We can send your bills and letters in large print, Braille and audio CD. We also offer Text Relay and British Sign Language video translation.
- If you need more time to answer the phone or door. We can also read your water meter if you're unable to.
- We can provide a telephone interpreter and you can translate our website.
- You can nominate a carer, friend or family member to speak to us on your behalf. We can also send them bills and letters.

We also have a new Community Engagement Vehicle, called Sandy, that can attend local events to talk about anything water related. We can come along and let the public know what a smart meter means for them and what extra support is available including financial help, the free Priority Service and water saving advice. If you are organising a community event and would like further details please contact us at suffolkengagement@nwl.co.uk.
