Early Help & Wellbeing Team
Our Early Help and Wellbeing team can help people who have difficulties with their wellbeing and low-level mental health difficulties like: anxiety, low mood and depression. The team will support people with or without a diagnosis. They focus on the goals someone wants to achieve to improve their wellbeing, including their social situation.
The team includes social workers, occupational therapists, support workers and an employment specialist. They can work with you to:
- Manage your mood
- Feel more confident
- Return to work or education
- Meet people and join local activities
- Become more independent
- Achieve your goals
Support usually lasts between 3 and 9 months.
We accept self-referrals but if you are a professional / organisation wanting to make a referral on behalf of the person, please call our duty line 0333 032 2958 or email MH.Wellbeingteam@essex.gov.uk to discuss/request a referral form.
Who can use this service?
How are services delivered?
You can refer yourself if you:
- Live in Essex
- Are aged between 18 and 65
- Have mental health concerns
- Are neurodivergent
- Have a mild learning disability
- Feel emotionally distressed or lack confidence
have a social care issue, or care for someone who does
We are a short term service.The services we provide include : One-to-one support. Self-help advice and guidance. Helping you find other support for issues affecting your wellbeing, such as debt or a physical health problem. Helping you access social groups in your area. Support for Carers.
